What is Support in Fire Emblem Engage?

In Fire Emblem Engage, Support is a mechanic that statistically measures the relationship between two of your units.

By increasing Support levels on your units, you will be provided with stat boosts to units that are standing next to one another on the battlefield.

This can be extremely useful for getting the upper hand over enemy units and providing that extra touch of damage you need to knock an opponent out of the combat.

Support levels can be increased through a variety of methods both inside and outside of combat. We’ve explained these methods in more detail below to help you plan out your own Support leveling strategies.

How To Increase Support Levels in Fire Emblem Engage

There are a number of methods you can use to increase Support levels in Fire Emblem Engage. There are Support boosting options for both within and outside of combat, and these different methods can be used in repetition of one another, or in some scenarios, at the same time.

Here’s a complete breakdown of every way you can increase Support levels in Fire Emblem Engage:

Increasing Support Levels in Battle

The first way to increase Support levels during battle in Fire Emblem Engage is by having one of your units assist an ally. This can be done through actions such as healing your allies or assist moves, such as Ike’s Reposition or Corrin’s Quality Time.

The second method for increasing Support levels during battle is by positioning your allied units adjacent to one another.

When a unit battles an opponent while standing next to an ally, the Support between these two characters will be increased. This means that having a lot of your units located within close proximity of one another can be extremely helpful in triggering this method and increasing Support among a variety of your units.

Remember to keep in mind that Support boosts are only active during your attacking phase, so you can make the most out of these boosts by creating large formations of your units and having them all battle alongside one another to raise Support as consistently as possible during battle.

Increasing Support Levels Outside of Battle

The first method for increasing Support levels outside of battle in Fire Emblem Engage is simply by conversing with your units at Somniel and checking in with anyone who has some new dialogue to share. In doing so, you’ll be able to unlock Support conversations between pairings and groups of your units, which will increase their Support levels.

The second way to increase Support levels outside of battle is by giving gifts to your units. This is a quick way to provide a Support boost between Alear and one of your units, and each character has a favorite gift item that will provide a bonus boost when received.

The third way to boost Support levels outside of battle is by having your units train at the arena.

You can boost Support between two units through arena training by having them fight one another. However, this isn’t the most ideal method to use, as the sparring partner for your unit will always be a random selection.

This means that using this method to build Support levels between two characters, in particular, will be highly inconsistent, so this is better used as a bonus on top of one of the other Support-raising methods.

The fourth method for boosting Support levels outside of battle is by ordering meals at Cafe Terrace.

At Somniel, you can select from your inventory of ingredients collected on your adventure to order a meal at Cafe Terrace.

When ordering your meal, you can choose two units that you’d like to share the food with. You will receive a Support boost depending on how much your chosen duo of units enjoy their meal.

The fifth and final method for boosting Support levels outside of battle in Fire Emblem Engage is by having your units participate in recreational activities at Somniel.

At Somniel, there are a few recreational activities that you can assign to two of your units at a time. In doing so, the two units you select will receive an increase in Support.

These recreational activities are available at the Pool, Orchard, or Stable, so if you want to use this method, you’ll need to head to these locations.

That’s everything you need to know about how Support works in Fire Emblem Engage.
