SEOUL (CelebrityAccess) – K-pop star Goo Hara was found dead in her home in southern Seoul on Sunday, police have confirmed.

The 28-year-old was a former member of South Korean girl group Kara. She later worked as a solo artist and actress.

Police said her cause of death wasn’t immediately known.

In May, Goo was reportedly found unconscious at her home and was hospitalized. Following the incident, she revealed to fans online that she had been suffering from depression.

Goo was also recently embroiled in a public dispute with her ex-boyfriend Choi Jong-bum, who she accused of blackmailing her by threatening to release a sex tape of the two of them. The matter made her the target of intense online harassment.

Goo is not the first K-pop star to die in recent months. Back in October, 25-year-old K-pop star and actress, Sulli, was found dead at her home near Seoul of an apparent suicide.

Another K-pop star, Kim Jong-hyun, died by suicide in 2017.
