MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (CBS 2) — A Mountain Home man is accused of raping a child and possessing child pornography on his cellphone.
The Mountain Home Police Department says the department was given a report about the alleged child porn and police later served a search warrant to access Abner Mizael Gomez Montepeque's phone and found the illegal pictures and video. Police say they were able to identify one of the victims on his phone, which led to three counts of rape of a minor child.
He's being held in the Elmore County Jail on a $1 million bond. He's due in court on Nov. 13.
The victim and their family are receiving care and support through various services. Mountain Home PD says it's also working with additional law enforcement agencies to make sure there are no other local victims.
