Glen Davis, a former NBA player, spoke up about his 2015 one-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, which he said was the outcome of Doc Rivers lowballing him in the midst of scandal. In addition, Davis claimed that the Clippers failed to inform him of the broken ankle; instead, it was discovered when he visited a physician in his hometown. The Big Baby and Doc had a long-standing player-coach connection because Davis played for the Boston Celtics under Rivers for the first four years of his NBA career.

“Big Baby” was mocked for his lack of athleticism, balance, and finesse but was frequently complimented for his aggressive style of play. Well, Davis was in a dilemma at that point of time, and this situation is not nearly as amusing as his NBA “game.” It’s crucial to remember that Rivers served as the Los Angeles Clippers’ president of basketball operations in addition to their head coach. Doc had the last word on all significant decisions, including player signings.

Glen Davis and his NBA career in a nutshell.

Glen Davis aka “Big Baby”, played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers during his eight years in the NBA. Glen Davis made an impression during those years thanks to his enormous size and skill in the paint. The Seattle Supersonics selected Glen Davis with the 35th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft and was traded to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics defeated Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers to win the NBA championship in his very first season. Davis had a bit more time on the court the next season as in the 2008–09 season, he averaged 15.8 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 1.3 steals per game.

The 2010 Boston Celtics squad, who advanced to the NBA Finals, had Davis as one of its key figures. However, the Lakers defeated them 4-3 and later, in 2011, he went to the Orlando Magic. In 2014, Glen Davis joined to the Los Angeles Clippers, however, during his time there, he had a confrontation with Rivers. Davis has a long history of harsh criticism for Rivers’ choices as the team’s head coach. After that, his career started to decline, and injuries kept him from playing. After some time, Davis quit the NBA to play in Croatia.

Doc Rivers made Davis and his NBA career disappear

Glen Davis had just completed a $6 million deal with the Orlando Magic before to signing a new contract with the Clippers. He was a very excellent backup big man that season, averaging 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. However, due to the Amsterdam marijuana issue that surrounds the centre, Doc Rivers gave him a meagre deal. Davis was obviously astonished and upset by this decision. Davis had the option to take a contract offer from another team, even though Rivers’ choice may not have been the best.

DeAndre Jordan and Davis were sighted in Amsterdam during the summer of 2014 outside of a coffee shop.  The majority of marijuana smokers do that there, and it appears that the big guy was doing the same. Jordan, one of the team’s most important players, has a deal with the Clippers. However, Davis wasn’t that significant and both the NBA and Doc Rivers seem to have had strict drug policies.
